The BFI have recently published Simon Pummell’s Bodysong as a Limited Collector’s Edition DVD and 200 page book. An epic vision of love, sex, violence and death, Bodysong is the story of an archetypal human life told through archive footage from across the world and spanning 100 years of cinema. Director Simon Pummell has created an almost mythic work that is a celebration, and also an indictment, of humanity.
The DVD also features two early shorts by Pummell, a filmed interview with the Director, the award-winning website with the stories of the people portrayed in the images, a 200 page book containing essays, stills and information on the archive films used.
Competition: We have two copies of Bodysong to give away, courtesy of Hot Property Films. To win yourself one of these Collector’s DVDs, simply answer this question – Jonny Greenwood is a member of which experimental English band? Email your answer to engine@animateprojects.org before 28 May to be in with a chance to win. Two winners will be selected at random after the deadline.
We recently spoke to Simon Pummell about Bodysong and multi-platform projects – read the interview here.

Congratulations to the DVD winners – Ben F and Jonathan G – who both correctly answered that Jonny Greenwood is a member of Radiohead.
