A Fair(y) Use Tale, Eric Faden
In this film, short excerpts from copyrighted Disney films are assembled to humorously explain the fair use principle in copyright law and to give examples of when copyrighted material can be used by an individual. For a recent example of of how the fair use principle has been used in law, look at the case between artist Shepard Fairey and the Associated Press over ownership of the ‘Obama Hope’ campaign poster image. (See the Stanford Fair Use Project for more information about this.)
This delightful film was created by Eric Faden, Associate Professor of English & Film/Media Studies at Bucknell University, in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania.
